Puppies dumped like garbage in veld outside Ermelo

The puppies were clearly dehydrated and hungry. The resident asked around for help to catch the puppies, and to give them food and water.

ERMELO – A resident made a horrific discovery on November 5 when she found a bag containing five puppies dumped in a veld outside town.

According to the woman, who stays on a farm on the road to Morgenzon, she saw the bag next to the road late on Sunday afternoon.

Her first thought was that someone had dumped their garbage again, as this is a regular sight on the road.

“Later that night, my daughter told me there are puppies near the road, and we went to investigate early the next morning,” she told the newspaper.

It was then that they discovered the five puppies.

They were clearly dehydrated and hungry. She asked around for help to catch the puppies and to give them food and water.

According to Megan du Preez, the founder of Ermelo True Rescue, the problem of people dumping puppies, kittens and bigger dogs next to the road is becoming more rife by the day.
