Department of Health engages with the Carolina community

The Department of Health hosted two impactful events in Carolina which coincided with Africa Vaccination Week 2025.

CAROLINA – The Mpumalanga Department of Health hosted two events under its programme of Taking Healthcare Services to the People, on April 29 and 30.

Officials visited the Ka-Mabuza Village in Msukaligwa Local Municipality on April 29, which coincided with Africa Vaccination Week 2025, themed ‘Immunisation for All Humanly Possible’.

The event focused on promoting immunisation and providing access to healthcare services in the area.

The programme continued at the Nhlazatshe 4 Community Hall in the Chief Albert Luthuli Local Municipality on April 30.

This event was attended by residents who were invited to engage with healthcare services provided by the department.

Mzwandile Shongwe, the deputy director for primary healthcare in the Chief Albert Luthuli subdistrict, addressed the gathering and encouraged community members to take charge of their health by making use of available services.

His remarks focused on the importance of utilising healthcare resources to support community well-being.

The programme forms part of the department’s outreach efforts to bring healthcare services directly to communities in Mpumalanga.

The initiative aims to strengthen the relationship between the community and healthcare providers, fostering greater access to vital services in the area.
