The P177 route linking Carolina and Chrissiesmeer, was closed after the collapse of a bridge on 29 December 2024.

CHRISSIESMEER – The P177 route linking Carolina and Chrissiesmeer, which was closed after the collapse of a bridge during torrential rainfall on 29 December 2024, is officially reopened.

Mpumalanga MEC for Public Works, Roads and Transport, Mr Thulasizwe Thomo, officiated the reopening ceremony following the completion of the reconstruction project.

Motorists can now resume normal travel on the P177 linking Carolina and Chrissiesmeer.
