ERMELO – With just three days left to nominate, the community response to Highvelder’s Best of Ermelo Readers’ Choice Awards has been overwhelmingly positive, showcasing great local pride as residents put forward their favourites.

Launched on December 15, 2025, the initiative invites readers to nominate – and later vote for – the local businesses, services and individuals who consistently make a difference through quality, excellence and reliability.

While many favourites have already been nominated, residents are urged not to miss the opportunity to ensure their top choices are included.

Nominations close on January 30, after which all qualifying nominees will be published, and the official voting phase will begin.

How to nominate:

• Visit the Highvelder website at www.highveldernews.co.za
• Click on ‘Best Of’ in the header menu
• Select a category or subcategory and complete the online nomination form

This community-driven initiative is designed to be simple, transparent and inclusive, giving residents a public platform to recognise the people and businesses that shape life in Ermelo for the better.

Nominations and votes span a wide range of categories and subcategories to reflect local favourites accurately.

Categories receiving fewer than three nominations will not proceed to the voting stage.

Winners will receive a framed Best of Ermelo Readers’ Choice certificate at a gala evening, which can be displayed at their establishments as a mark of recognition from the local community.
