New school uniforms restore dignity and hope for local learners
Representing Camden's executive management, Energy Manager Jabulile Nkosi, said the initiative's aim is to support the future of learners.
ERMELO – Eskom’s Camden Power Station, Latty International, and the Isimilo Community Organisation partnered to donate school uniforms to six local schools, to restore learner dignity and academic focus.
Representing Camden’s executive management, Energy Manager Jabulile Nkosi, emphasised that the initiative is designed to build confidence and support the future of learners.
“A school uniform symbolises equality, belonging, and pride, enabling learners to concentrate on their education and believe in their potential,” Nkosi stated.
She reminded learners that their dignity and potential are not limited by their circumstances, and that life offers continuous opportunities for growth and achievement.
Starlyn George, executive manager of Latty International, highlighted that the programme was the result of collective action and shared ideas.
He described the initiative as a significant milestone for his organisation, sparked by their ongoing support for Eskom’s power stations.
George expressed hope that this partnership would serve as a blueprint for future community interventions.
Sipho Ndlovu of the Young Professionals Network encouraged learners to see themselves as future leaders.
“You are not merely students, but professionals who possess the ability to shape society,” he remarked.
