Parents question Ermelo school closure as answers are awaited

Reports from parents suggest learners were turned away from school, but authorities have not yet confirmed details.

Parents in Ermelo have raised concerns after claiming that learners were unable to access Lucky Dube Secondary School for several days.

However, the situation has not yet been independently confirmed by the school’s principal, the school governing body, or the Department of Education.

According to parents, learners were turned away from the premises, with allegations circulating about a disruption linked to on-site construction. These claims remain unverified at this stage.

The Department of Education has been formally approached for comment, and enquiries have been sent to regional spokesperson Trinity Makhubele. A response is still awaited.

At this stage, no official confirmation has been provided regarding the cause of the reported disruption or the duration of the impact on teaching and learning.

According to one parent present, Department of Education officials were reportedly unable to locate the relevant director at the time of their visit to their offices earlier today, and the group subsequently left without receiving formal answers.
