Camden Power Station improves sanitation at local school

Camden Power Station upgraded sanitation facilities at Camden Combined School, continuing to improve education and learner wellbeing.

ERMELO – Camden Power Station recently implemented a sanitation improvement project at Camden Combined School as part of Eskom’s Corporate Social Investment (CSI) programme.

The project, completed on April 15, included the donation and installation of a septic tank and plumbing infrastructure at the school.

Peter Lukhele, representing Camden’s executive management, said the initiative aims to improve sanitation facilities and promote a healthier, safer and more dignified environment for both learners and staff.

He added that the project forms part of Camden Power Station’s ongoing commitment to sustainable community development and aligns with Eskom’s objective of creating long-term socio-economic impact in the communities where it operates.

The principal of Camden Combined School thanked the power station for its continued support. The relationship between the school and Camden dates back to 2018, when four mobile classrooms were donated to the school.

An additional four mobile classrooms were donated in 2024 to help address overcrowding challenges.

Since then, Camden has continued to support the school in its efforts to improve the learning environment for learners.

The sanitation project forms part of Eskom’s broader investment in education and community upliftment initiatives.
