NOTICE PUBLIC PARTICIPATION PROCESS
Environmental Authorisation and Water Use License application process for the construction of an irrigation dam and associated water uses for LN Hoffman Beleggings (Pty) Ltd, near Morgenzon, Mpumalanga Province
Notice of an Environmental Authorisation Application is given in terms of Chapter 6 of GNR982, of 2014 (as amended), promulgated by the National Environmental Management Act 107, of 1998, (NEMA 107, of 1998) as well as Water Use License Application (WUL) promulgated in terms of the National Water Act 36 of 1998, (NWA 36 of 1998) of the following: LN Hoffman Beleggings (Pty) Ltd is proposing to construct an irrigation dam of approximately 140 000cbm, on portion 8 of the farm Goedegedacht 458-IS (Coordinates: 26 38`18.06″S 2936`48.17″E). The project also includes an application for the abstraction of water from the affected watercourse. Accordingly, LN Hoffman Beleggings will also be applying for a WUL for the proposed activities to be undertaken.
An Application for Environmental Authorisation is submitted to the Department of Agriculture, Rural Development, Land and Environmental Affairs (DARDLEA), while a WUL Application will be submitted to the Limpopo-Olifants Catchment Management Agency (LOCMA) for consideration.
