The Highvelder took to the streets to ask Ermelo residents what advice they would give to learners as schools open this week. This is what they had to say.
Siphamandla Mpofu. They must begin now to revise the work done in the class. Parents must also play their part and take interest in their children’s school work. Teachers, learners and parents must work together. Good luck.
Fikelephi Vilakazi. They must behave in school and listen to the teachers. The most important thing though is to commit to their education and all the hard work will pay off at the end of the year.
Kaitlin Joubert. Ek gaan hard werk en my bes doen omdat ek na gr. 4 gaan. Die belangrikste is dat ek sal oplet in die klas en al my huiswerk doen. Beste wense aan elkeen.
Megan Hattingh. Ek wil al die leerders en my skoolmaats by Laerskool JJ van der Merwe die beste vir vanjaar toewens. Ons moet hard werk, na die onderwysers luister en ons huiswerk doen.
Fatima Harris. I urge the learners, most importantly my daughter, to work hard and show dedication. They must concentrate in class, begin on a good note by doing revision and not leave it for later in the year.
