Winners smokin’ off the tees
The winners were the Smoking Tee's, which consisted of Johan du Bruin, Charl van Heerden, Deon van Zyl and Niel Mathiesson.
Ermelo Toyota hosted its second annual corporate fundraiser golf day at Ermelo Country Club on October 9.
Teams took part in an 18-hole, 4-ball better Ball scramble drive competition.
A total of 37 teams participated.
According to Ms Maryna van der Walt, one of the organisers of the golf day, the fundraiser was held to support a few non-profit but essential organisations that contribute to creating a healthy social environment.
Numerous golfers participated in the event.
The winners were the Smoking Tee’s, which consisted of Johan du Bruin, Charl van Heerden, Deon van Zyl and Niel Mathiesson.
They each walked away with meat to the value of R3 500, and received a Gazoo Racing Toyota jacket.
In second place were Theuns Botha, Corrie Swart, DC Swart and Dave Harris.
The second team each won an Addidas bag filled with golf accesories.
Not to far behind them were Herman Bosman, Sheldon du Preez, Fred Els and Maans Sandenberg in third place.
Each player won meat to the value of R1 800.
Naudé Kleynhans, Meyer Mentz, Pieter Steyn and Mark Stidworthy achieved fourth place.
Fourth place winners received Land Cruiser jackets from Toyota.
Ms Van der Walt said by hosting a big event, they reduce the constant request for sponsorships and make a bigger impact.
She added that some of the organisations are SAVF Ermelo, Ermelo Christelike Maatskaplike Raad (CMR), Carolina CMR, Amersfoort Community Forum and the Annabelle Girls Project.
“We also qualify those institutions by making sure their bookkeeping and management are in good order,” she said.
She concluded that the funds were raised by the company that approached their suppliers, their guests as well as other locals and bigger institutions to contribute.
Residents who are intrested in become a sponsor and donating to the various non-profit and essential local organisations, can contact Ms Gillian Lourens at Toyota on 017 811 0600.
