All about grasslands

The Westville Conservancy invites everyone to a fascinating presentation by Dr Peter Ardington on 23 August at the Frank Farrer Hall, Palmiet Nature Reserve, which will start at 6pm.

The presentation will be on the state of the worlds grasslands. He will be discussing environmental problems, climate change, desertification, erosion, game, livestock, grazing management and fire with many photographs and text slides.

People are also welcome to bring along their own drinks and spend time around the fire afterwards.

Peter Ardington practices as a veterinarian and farmer with a focus on beef cattle herd health and nutrition, especially management of the natural veld component. He served on the SA Veterinary Council for 18 years, 1983-2001, with the role of president for 4 years 1995 – 1998. He has a special interest in environmental conservation, wardens, conservancies and veterinarians towards conservation of the veld resource.
