Beginners’ bird course

BIRDLIFE Port Natal will hold a beginners’ bird course presented by David Allan (president of Birdlife Port Natal) and Steve Davis (well-known local birder and co-author of the book Field Guide to Shorebirds of South Africa) at the Paradise Valley Nature Reserve’s Conference Centre on Saturday, 10 February.

The course is aimed at introducing birding to new birders and to people interested in taking up birding as a pastime.

Registration is at 8.30am.

The workshop begins at 9am and ends at 1pm.

Entrance is R80 each for BirdLife member, R95 each for visitors or R60 each for juniors (under 18).

Take along a notebook and pen or pencil, as well as binoculars for afterwards.

Course notes will be provided.

Tea, coffee and refreshments will be available on arrival and mid-morning.

If you would like to stay for lunch afterwards, bring your own picnic baskets.
