HILLCREST High School recently hosted its annual matric dance, with the theme Into the Woods. The hall was beautifully decorated and the girls looked stunning and elegant and the gents debonair. As usual, the arrivals were quite a spectacle with the handsomely dressed couples stepping out of limousines and convertibles. One couple even arrived in a boat, another in a rickshaw and two couples arrived a the venue sitting at a dining table.

“As usual, the much anticipated matric mance did not disappoint this year as pupils arrived in all their finery, challenging the razzle dazzle of the Hollywood red carpet. Their looking so grown up on the night is an appropriate indication of a coming of age for our matric pupils. The dance also gives staff an opportunity to enjoy a final social event with the matrics. Now the focus can return to studies!” said the school’s headmaster, Craig Girvin
