Fundraiser pits passion with fashion
Power breeds took to the catwalk for the Animal RAID “Pit Passion with Fashion” Survivor fundraiser.
ANIMAL RAID hosted its first-ever Pit Passion with Fashion animal fundraiser at Musgrave Methodist Church Hall on Saturday, 19 August.
Featuring pit bulls and other canine power breeds, the Surivivor themed fashion show was the first of several fundraising events organised for the purchase of the NPOs planned pro-life animal sanctuary to be based in Waterfall.
Jessica Singh, founder of the non-profit animal rights organisation, Pawfect Nation, and creator of the NPO’s direct-action unit, Animal RAID (Rescue, Action, Investigation Division), is passionate about the pit bull breed said the purpose of the event was to make the public aware of how much abuse and cruelty was inflicted on pit bulls because of negative misconceptions about the breed.
The show featured socialised pit bulls as well as other power breeds, who were led down the catwalk by contestants from M-Net’s past production, Survivor SA, as well as Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighters and professional models.
