Mud, sweat and tears

Adrenalin and thrill-seekers had a blast at the Alverstone Altitude Rush at Roseway Waldorf School on Saturday.

ROSEWAY Waldorf School’s Alverstone Altitude Rush started out as a school fund-raiser which quickly developed into an exciting event for Upper Highway’s adrenaline and thrill seekers.

This event was hosted in the beautiful Alverstone Hills at Roseway Waldorf School and the Alverstone Wildlife Park.

The scenery alone was breathtaking for all participants and spectators. An extra bonus in this beautiful environment was the fun obstacle course designed for the entire family.

The course had its challenging obstacles for the thrill-seeking fit competitors as well as easier obstacles for those just wanting to have a fun day out with their team mates.

The event was inspired by a team of three outdoor-loving women and their love for obstacle courses.

“The Alverstone Altitude Rush has bought a new dynamic to obstacle racing and a first in the Upper Highway community. The community has truly taken hold of this first-time event. We also want to thank our sponsors and national companies for the awesome prizes and sponsorships,” said Carla-Jess McDonald, one of the organisers.

The obstacle course was between five to six kilometres and consisted of 30 obstacles.

It entailed climbing, swinging, crawling, jumping and balancing.

The entire course was designed for spectators to be able to follow their family and friends throughout the course and enjoy the fun with them.
