SUNFLOWER Fund is proud to announce the launch of its first Bandana Baby and Toddler competition, which will run from 15 August until 12 October.

The Fund is encouraging parents to take a close-up head and shoulders photo of their little ones wearing the latest Sunflower Bandana, pay a nominal entry fee of R50 and visit www.sunflowerfund.org.za to enter the competition. The photos will be uploaded onto The Sunflower Fund’s website and at the end of the competition the public will get to vote for their favourite Bandana Baby and Toddler photo. The photo with the most votes in each category will win some amazing prizes. The categories are zero to two years old for baby and three to five years old for toddler.

The funky 2013 Sunflower Bandana is available in six bright and trendy colours from any Pick n Pay store or Round Table representative nationwide.

Operations manager at The Sunflower Fund, Tarryn Corlett-Boden, said: “We really wanted to ensure that the entire family, young and old, could show their support to all our leukaemia patients, many of whom are children. We launched the Bandana Baby and Toddler Competition alongside our National Bandana Day campaign to show support to our brave young patients who lose their hair during chemotherapy treatments.”

National Bandana Day is the biggest annual fundraiser and all the money raised goes towards recruiting more bone marrow stem cell donors for inclusion on the South African Bone Marrow Registry and to tissue type each blood sample to the improved molecular (DNA) level at a cost of R2000.

The Sunflower Fund thanked Baby City and Toy Zone for coming on board as the main overall prize sponsor for both categories. Other prize sponsors include Your Baby, Baba en Kleuter, Jean Kelly, Shooshoos and 4akid.
