Klewinghaus dances to the top
Hillcrest dancer, Lesley Klewinghaus, recently took second place at the World Dance Masters Championship.
HILLCREST resident, Lesley Klewinghaus, competed at the World Dance Masters Championship in Blackpool, in the UK recently .
The talented performer competed in the Advanced Silver Division, where she scored an overall second place.
All of the competitors were required to compete in three separate divisions, namely the Waltz, East Coast Swing and Showdance.
“My favourite part of dancing is not only the competitive aspect, but also the friends that you make over the years. It was great to be together and I look forward to seeing them every year,” said Klewinghaus.
According to Klewinghaus she was still nervous at the prestigious event. “Despite having competed at numerous other competitions and being a dance instructor, it was quite daunting to have those nine judges watching me,” she said.
Klewinghaus is also the reigning SA Champion in the Advanced Silver Division and she runs her own studio in Hillcrest.
