Tots celebrate their furry friends
Peter pan Pre-Primary tots raised fund for their schools as well as the Kloof and Highway SPCA.
PETER Pan Pre-Primary School recently held a Me and My Pet Photo Competition to raise funds for the school, as well as the Kloof and Highway SPCA.
Pupils were encouraged to enter the competition by submitting a photo of themselves with their pet at a cost of R40.
Barbara Laubscher, the fundraising manager at the SPCA and Karen Davey of the Toy Factory Shop were competition judges.
Noah-John Potgieter was the overall winner of the competition, while Tatum Noyle won the “Pet look-alike” category.
Ryan Harris and Amy-leigh Harris won second place.
The various prizes were sponsored by the Toy Factory Shop and Ralfie Pumps and Valves.
Laubscher said their decisions were based on the relationships between the children and their pets.
“We encourage a strong relationship between children and their pets. We also encourage them to be more involved and we aim to teach the children about their responsibilities towards their pets,” she said.
