KSP brainiacs take on science expo

A GROUP of young scientists from Kloof Senior Primary took part in the Eskom Science Expo recently, winning and they won an array of medals and prizes.

Hannah Kendon, Dylan Gons and Colin Rees won silver medals, while Kristen Rosser, Chloe Vincent and Declan Kirkbride

walked off with bronze medals.

In addition to the medals, Chloe Vincent won a bag of goodies as her prize for Best Environmental Science Project in the primary school section and Dylan Gons won a CNA voucher for Best Food Science project in the primary school section.

Colin Rees won the Best Physics Project in the primary school section and also received a voucher from SciQuip Educational SA for the school.

The expo gave pupils the opportunity to showcase their innovations, through projects focusing on science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The expo also created a platform for growth while serving as an incubator for future scientists, researchers and engineers.

A few months ago a team of five pupils, James De Goede, Kristen Rosser, Delcia Narsiah, Dylan Gons and Chloe Vincent, under the guidance of Alison Lötter, obtained the highest overall score at the Glenwood Science Expo for Grade 6 and 7. The group then won an inter-active smartboard for the school, which was installed and presented to the school recently.
