Blue Angels help empower global policewomen
The local company, Blue Security, and its charitable foundation, Blue Angels, made a donation to the SAPS to host the IAWP conference.

THE Blue Angels Charitable Trust recently showed its support for women police with a R5000 donation to the SAPS to assist with the hosting of the International Association of Women Police (IAWP) training conference in Durban last week.
The IAWP is hosting its 51st annual conference at the Durban International Convention Centre which began on Sunday 22 September and ended on Thursday 26 September. The Women’s Network of the South African Police Service, through intensive lobbying and extraordinary effort, won the bid to host the event which is set to welcome 1 000 women in law enforcement from about 100 countries to the city.
Blue Angels spokesman Gary Tintinger said Blue Security believes it is vital that policewomen were supported, as they were an invaluable resource within the SAPS.
“We chose to support the conference because we believe it will enhance the professional work of policewomen and can only benefit crime victims. The conference will expose policewomen to the latest research on diverse aspects of criminal justice with speakers from universities and professional organisations from around the world. We are grateful to all the supporters of Blue Angels who have made this donation possible,” said Tintinger.
