Boys of many talents

Pinetown Boys High School pupil crowned Mr Pinetown.

TWO pupils from Pinetown Boys’ High School were top three in the Mr Pinetown contest that was held on Saturday 7 September. Grade 12 pupil Nqoba Dlamini was crowned Mr Pinetown 2013 and Ayanda Mthethwa who is doing Grade 10 took the third position.

Nqoba and Ayanda, who are also best friends, said they did not expect to do so well as this was their first t pageant.

“We work very hard and we made sure that we excel in every category and we put all our energy into it,” said Nqoba.

The two boys are not only pretty faces as they are involved in a number of things.

“We sing as we also have a group called Midnight Gold where we sing Gospel, R and B and A Cappella and we are also actors.

“Everything we do, we make sure that we give it our best, our singing group won Westville’s Got Talent in 2011 and it was our first perfomance on stage,” said Ayanda.

Even in sports these two boys have done exceptionally well for themselves as Nqoba is the captain of the first water polo team and Ayanda plays first team rugby.

They are also involved in the school choir as Nqoba is the choir leader and Ayanda the choir master.

Nqoba said they work together in everything.

“We are more than friends, we are like brothers, we inspire each other in everything that we do and we are always eager to learn,” said Nqoba.

The two boys said they would love to pursue a profession in the media world.

“We are not sure what at the moment but whatever opportunity comes first we will definitely grab it,” they said.
