Rapist sentenced to ten years

CAMPERDOWN Regional Court sentenced Sanele Madlala aged 16 to ten years imprisonment for rape on Thursday 10 October.

CAMPERDOWN Regional Court sentenced a 16-year-old to ten years imprisonment for rape, on Thursday 10 October.

On New Year’s day in Inchanga a woman was on her way to work when she was approached by the teenager who threatened her with a knife, forced her into the bush where he repeatedly raped her.

The woman opened a case of rape at the Inchanga Police Station and the case was then transferred to Pinetown Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit for further investigation.

The case was assigned to Det Sgt Xolani Mdunge who arrested the boy.

Detective Mdunge was commended for his hard work and dedication which led to the sentencing of the rapist.
