New online system to assist high school pupils

Currently the matric portal is being populated with learning resources into the virtual study room, with priority being given especially to Maths and Physics.

PUPILS who have access to the internet or any smart device will have 24/7 access to the matric portal, the service will be free of costs to pupils and all teachers.

The matric portal is a virtual high school being developed to support all high school pupils in South Africa, Africa and the world, to achieve improved academic results.

Pravin Maharaj, CEO Oval International Computer Education said when the matric portal is fully developed it will offer pupils, teachers and schools at large subject specific interactive textbooks, tutorial tips, animations, interactive academic games, past year matric exam papers, online tests, dictionary search facility, wiki search, note capture and save features, blogs, Twitter and Facebook all on a single online learning platform.

“Some 50 organizations in the world including Microsoft’s Khan Academy, Nobel Peace Prize organization, University of Minnesota, South African and Australian Government and numerous professors are contributing to the matric portal.

“Currently the matric portal is being populated with learning resources into the virtual study room, with priority being given especially to Maths and Physics.

”The career personality test and the tourism career personality test assist pupils make informed career decisions,” said Maharaj.

The tests are guides only and are free of costs to pupils on the matric portal.
