Curv ends year on festive note

Curv ended the year with a braai at the site of its conservation project.

THE Conservancy of the Umbilo River Valley (Curv) held its year-end braai at Paxhill, Northdene, the site of its project to rid the former scout grounds of invasive alien vegetation. The project, sanctioned by the municipality, has seen the eradication of large tracts of invasive weeds and trees and the emergence of indigenous plants and saplings.

The ultimate goal of the conservancy is to restore what remains of the riverine forest and connect this little gem with Paradise Valley Nature Reserve and Roosfontein Nature Reserve by paths leading into the D’Moss system along the Umbilo River.
