Pinetown police pay it forward
Pinetown SAPS and Pick n Pay (Carvesham) visited Phinduvuye Community Development Project in Nazareth in conjunction with 16 Days of Activism to support the vulnerable and needy children
VULNERABLE and needy children received food parcels from the Pinetown SAPS and Pick n Pay (Caversham) recently.
Pinetown SAPS communications officer, Lt Bongumusa Manqele said they visited Phinduvuye community development project in Nazareth to mark the 16 Days of Activism campaign to support vulnerable and needy children and donated food for the orphans and children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Pick n Pay manager, Alastair Sayanna, urged other businesses to help the project as they are trying their best without any support to help the children and also to prevent them from turning into crime because of poverty.
He also stated that on behalf of Pick n Pay they are glad that they had the opportunity to help feed the children.
Phinduvuye is a non-profit organisation caring for 400 children.
“It is not easy for them to care for so many children without any sponsors, as the community we also have the responsibility to help in any other way we can.
“Pinetown SAPS went all out to help the project as part of their crime prevention and also urged the community to help too, with anything to support the children.
“These are the children who are going to be our future leaders and need our help to succeed,” said Manqele.
