THE principal of Waterfall College, Jeanette van der Merwe, was thrilled with the final IEB matric results for the class of 2013.
Special recognition was given to Dylan Kriel, recipient of the Dux award and deputy head boy for 2013, as he secured 5 A’s in Afrikaans, geography, life orientation, life sciences and mathematics.
“I wish to thank our amazing teachers who are true subject specialists for putting their heart and soul into the development of every child. Their passion and dedication to the task goes well beyond the call of duty. Once again the entire matric class has passed. Well done to our students and their families for working with us to achieve this great result which enables the whole class to progress to the tertiary institutions of their choice,” said van der Merwe.
She also described Chris de Kock as one of the school’s miracle pupils as he joined Waterfall College after being taught at The Brown’s School in Pinetown. “With hard work and support from staff and fellow pupils, he passed his IEB Matric exams successfully and was awarded with the 2013 Jenny Shingler Award for Perseverance,” added van der Merwe.
