SPCA appeals for sponsorship for dog mattresses

THE Kloof and Highway SPCA has had such a wonderful response to their appeal for fleece blankets to keep the animals warm this winter that they are now looking for sponsorship of money towards waterproof mattresses.

The SPCA managed to order 200 fleece blankets thanks to the generosity of the public who opened up their hearts and wallets for the much needed blankets. They have now sourced waterproof mattresses which they can have made up for R250 each which includes maintenance should it get torn or chewed.

They are aiming to have 100 made so that all the animals in the kennels can be made comfortable this winter, especially with the hard, cold concrete kennel floors.

” A special thank you to all who contributed to the fleece blankets. We now appeal to our community to sponsor a bed for a dog. We hope you can help us,” said Barbara Laubscher, Kloof and Highway marketing manager.
