Donation a major boost for MS KZN
Multiple Sclerosis Society of South Africa – KZN received a generous donation.
THE Multiple Sclerosis Society of South Africa – KZN branch, was thrilled to be handed a cheque for R20 000 from the KZN Association of Flower Arrangers (KZNAFA) and The Judges Panel.
The money was raised as a result of “Flowers through Crowhurst” where the beautiful Crowhurst Manor rooms were splendidly decked out with creative and original floral art works from the members of the various KZN floral clubs.
Peter Watson, chairman of MS KZN thanked the associations for their tremendous donation. “We are an extremely small organisation and fundraising is extremely difficult for us so donations such as this makes our work so much easier. I can assure you that this donation will be put to good use,” said Watson.
He also thanked “Flowers through Crowhurst” for allowing MS sufferer, Gilly Pierce’s mouth painted cards to be sold at the event, raising R2000 towards Gilly’s living expenses.
Oliver Sinclair, a MS sufferer said that since 28 May was World MS Day it was important to create awareness and recognition of MS in South Africa.
