Sanele May taken to wrong court house
State advocate plans to add an additional accused to the case.

TRUCK driver, Sanele May, was due to make his first appearance at the Durban High Court yesterday morning, but he was not present.
According to Alistair Walters, a state attorney, May was mistakenly taken to the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court. May was charged with 24 counts of culpable homicide after the truck he was driving crashed into five vehicles at the bottom of Field’s Hill last year in September
Walters then asked the judge, Shyam Gyanda, to adjourn the case until Tuesday 5 August as the state was looking to add an “additional accused to the indictment”.
Louis Barnard, May’s defense attorney, agreed to the postponement of the case and noted that he would inform May later that afternoon of the date change.
“The case will be postponed provisionally and May will remain in custody,” said Gyanda.
