Youth feel the power of fun
With the aim of guiding children in the right direction, churches from around KZN combined their resources to host a successful Youth Day event.
MORE than 200 children gathered at the sports centre in Mariannridge at the weekend to take part in the national Youth Day celebrations.
The event, hosted by the Christian Assemblies throughout KZN in conjunction with other churches in the Highway area, was to empower the youth by using the simple method of fun.
“Love Life gave a talk to the children. There were career guidance workshops all with the aim of empowering the youth and to show them that there is definitely more to life other than doing drugs, drinking alcohol and getting involved in criminal activities,” said Samantha Nene, a member of the church.
Apart from the workshops there was also live entertainment, a dancing show, a praise and worship session and a mix of soccer and netball games throughout the day.
