Crime operation leads to 38 arrests

Mariannhill SAPS conducted a successful crime prevention operation in the Mariannhill area.

MARIANNHILL police had a successful crime operation when they arrested 38 people for various crimes in the area.

Under the command of Cpt Ntshangase, crime prevention commander at Mariannhill SAPS, members of this station targeted criminals and their activities in the area.

Mariannhill SAPS communications officer, Cpt Linton Harold said the team conducted a crime sweep in the area and made numerous arrests.

“Fifteen were arrested for illegal drugs, one for murder, three for carrying dangerous weapons, four for dealing in liquor and 15 were arrested for drinking in public.

“Cpt Ntshangase warned people about involving themselves in crime,” said Harold.

Mariannhill police station commander, Col Themba Mabaso was extremely pleased with the efforts of his members and commended them for their hard work.
