Karate Academy needs sponsorship for World Champs
Local Karate Academy needs your support.
THE Shin-Gi – Tai Karate Academy in Botha’s Hill need to raise sponsorship in order to represent SA at the World Karate Championships in Japan.
Sensei Gareth Crowe and his three students, Dylan Gardner (13), Lauren Cooper (13) and Elke Human (16) have been selected to represent the SA JKA (South African Japanese Karate Association) at the 13th Gichin Funakoshi World Karate Championships in October but need to raise an amount of R160 000, R40 000 each in order to fund the trip.
They recently held a fundraising golf day at the Kloof Country Club which was a huge success and raised R 22,400. So far they have managed to raise a total of R36,400 from various fundraising events so they still need to raise about R120 000.
They will host a ladies Black Bra Evening on 11 September at the Keg & Trout, Hillcrest. There will be a number of prizes, a band, DJ, MC and entertainment with adult wear and accessories on offer.
They are also raffling a weekend away for six people to the berg (valued at R12 000). The cost is R20 a ticket. The draw will be done at the ladies evening.
If you are interested in attending the ladies evening or are able to offer any sponsorship, contact Sensei Gareth Crowe on 083 627 3776 or shingitai02@gmail.com.
