Fun for all at Brown School

Brown School fundraiser, a success

BROWN School held their wheels and heels event recently with pupils, staff and their parents participating.

Pupils were asked to raise funds to take part in the day.

The funds raised were returned to the classes for the purchase of educational materials, art supplies or whatever is needed for the class.

Jane Noble, principal at the school said, The children could choose between bringing something with wheels (but no cars) to school to ride, or to walk the route, which included going around the school and down the road as many times as they liked for 40 minutes.

“The “wheelies” and “heelies” were entertained in the hall with a live band while the alternate group had their turn. The route included a pit-stop along the way where each child was given a goodie pack with a juice, and some sweet and savoury snacks.

“The day was a great success and we appreciate the co-operation of the neighbours, and all who sponsored the individual children, as well as some of the items,” said Noble.

At the end of the rally all the children met on the field for a fun afternoon, playing on the inflatables until home time. Parents were invited to participate with their children and great fun was had by all.
