Msomi family blessed on Mandela Day

Local businesswoman Nellie Mkhize and friends with Santi and Klaarwater Association gives back on Mandela Day.

THE MSOMI family in Village area, Mariannhill was one of the families who were blessed with goodies and clothes on Mandela Day.

The family received food, clothes and furniture from local businesswoman, Nellie Mkhize and friends with Santi and Klaarwater Taxi Association.

Head of the house, Doda Msomi said he has no words to describe the joy he feels after the generous donation.

“I live here with my four children as my wife passed away four years back.

“My wife left a big space, things changed drastically when she passed away.

“What makes things worse is that I am unemployed and I had an accident a few years back. We only depend on my grant money,” said Doda.

Mkhize said the family was identified by a member of the taxi association.

“I was very saddened to see the conditions the family live under, two of the children do not even have birth certificates, which is why they can not apply for the grant money.”

Mkhize who owns Nellie M Foundation which is an organisation for underprivileged children said she is grateful to all her friends and the Santi and Klaarwater Association who went out of their way to support this family.
