Robin Hood tea celebrates strength of women
The Robin Hood ladies morning celebrated the difference women can make.
Loyal supporters of the Robin Hood Foundation were invited to a ladies ‘Bring a Box’ morning tea at Robyndale Conference Centre on Friday, 8 August with the aim of celebrating the strength of women and the difference they can make in our community.
The guests were asked to bring a box of goodies needed for the Foundation’s ‘Love the Babies’ and ‘Gogo Bag’ projects and every lady arrived with boxes bulging at the seams full of useless products such as wet wipes, baby purity, second hand clothes and toiletries.
Jackie Houston, on behalf of RHF, thanked all those present for their generosity, “We couldn’t do what we do without you, with your huge hearts we always get more than we anticipate. Thank you for your on going support.”
After a presentation and beauty demonstration by Placecol and a delicious tea of sweet treats, the Robin Hood Foundation ‘Climbing for Classrooms’ team, Michele Solomon, Robyn Keulder and Cindy Norcott, spoke about their inspiring but mentally and physically challenging experience of climbing Kilimanjaro in an attempt to raise money and awareness for the Foundation’s build build a creche project. The funds raised were used to rebuild and expand Uminathi Creche in rural Marianhill which officially opened on the 5 August.
The Robin Hood Foundation thanked all the sponsors who contributed to the goodie bags, spot prizes and the and the incredible prizes that made up the raffle hamper worth R5000.
According to Kim Griffith Jones, coordinator for the Robin Hood Foundation, ‘’It was a wonderful way to spend the morning, networking with like-minded ladies and being inspired by some fantastic ladies who conquered Kili!’’
