Throughbreds awarded for contribution to dressage

The KZN Breeders Association is recognising the talents of Throughbreds who continue to do well after racing.

The KZN Breeders Dressage Challenge accumulated in a special awards evening held at the Durban Shongweni Club.

The event was a way of recognising talented Throughbreds and their owners who have done well in dressage and rewarding them for their tremendous efforts.

The initiative was has a result of The KZN Breeders Association joining forces with KZN Dressage to sponsor six shows during 2014, with rosettes and prizes at each show – culminating with a trophy and prizes being awarded to the top Thoroughbreds with the most points accumulated over the shows.

Sally McGrath, a provincial dressage judge who has been instrumental in ensuring the smooth running of the Series, said, ” The event has been very successful and we have already appealed to KZN Breeders to continue with this wonderful series.”

The evening also raised R4400 through the “harvest table” raffle for the Coastal Horse Care Unit.
