PINETOWN Boys’ High School held its annual Remembrance Day Ceremony in the Brocklehurst Garden of Remembrance on Thursday.

This occasion is held to honour and remember all pupils, former pupils and members of staff who have died . Umvoti Mounted Rifles, 3 Parachute Battalion, MOTHS, friends, parents, PBHS staff and pupils were present for the wreath-laying ceremony. Principal of the school, Ray Naidoo, said this was a very special day for the school as the school community was encouraged to remember those who had died.

“We need to remember those whose lives were taken in the service of their country, those who acquitted themselves with valour and courage.

“We are also encouraged to remember all those in the Pinetown Boys’ High School family who have gone before us,” he said.

Naidoo added that the remembrance day was a reminder that life was extremely fragile. “In remembering them, we are reminded to live our lives to the full and in the service of others,” he said.
