Gillitts Primary School win R10 000.

GILLITTS Primary School won R10 000 in the Lids for learning campaign that was organised by Lions shoe polish company.

The school came first in the country as they collected most lids.

Debbie Montague from ETC events said the purpose of the campaign was to promote cleanliness, polishing school shoes and collecting lids.

“We have been to 100 schools around the country with Roarry, the lion mascot promoting this campaign and Gillitts Primary School won the grand prize of R10 000,” said Montague.

Artie Jadoo, principal of Gillitts Primary School said they are ecstatic that their little school came out first in the country for the ‘lids for learning competition’.

“The prize money of R10 000 will be used to purchase desks for our Grade 4 class which currently has 48 pupils.

“The children are also looking forward to the party which is going to be provided for the whole school by the Lions company.

Jadoo added that she is very grateful to the Lion Shoe Polish Company, staff and pupils whose support ensured this blessing. Jadoo also thanked all the kind souls who are constantly assisting the school.
