Kloof Debutantes and Squires raise over R50 000

Kloof High School's Debutantes and Squires raise money for charity.

The Kloof High School Debutantes and Squires for 2014 raised in excess of R54,000 which will be used to improve facilities at the school and a portion will be donated to St Martin’s Childrens’ Home and Open Door Crisis Centre.

The fundraising event was started six years ago with the aspiring Debs and Squires starting to raise funds in Grade 9. In their Grade 10 year the results are announced and the winners are crowned at an annual ball.

“The ball is a highly anticipated event with weeks spent planning the outfits that are worn, especially the debutantes who wear traditional white. The squires weren’t to be outdone and certainly did themselves proud,” said Barbara Forbes, PR for Kloof High School.

The winners for 2014 were Megan Moffett (Debutante); Teegan Coulonval (Squire); Tamarind Digges (Runner-Up) and Michael Thompson (Runner-Up).
