SPCA’s wall of art finalised
The beautiful mosaic wall at the Kloof and Highway SPCA has been completed.
THE Kloof and Highway SPCA, in association Just Imagine Mosaics, local schools, businesses and retirement homes have created a beautiful mosaic masterpiece that will be forever displayed on the society’s Education Centre’s wall.
The finished design is a tree surrounded by nature, insects, animals, reptiles and birds that all depict the beauty residents are surrounded by each day.
This project was initiated by Harcourts, who raffled a doll’s house to assist in fundraising for this project and received generous donations from clients and service providers to ensure this project was a success.
Sheila Nichol and Zelda Martin from Just Imagine Mosaics took on a mammoth task.To help with this task, Sheila held mosaic workshops at the SPCA where those who attended made mosaics that have been added to the wall.
St Mary’s DSG’s Grade 4 girls, as well as Kearsney College’s boys and Harcourts staff also created some of the mosaics that have been added to the wall.
The next big mosaic project will be displayed on the new puppy run, which is currently being built.
