Westville cat hero lauded on Facebook

Hero goes the extra mile to rescue an injured cat.

A good Samaritan who rescued a cat from a drain has been hailed as a hero on Facebook. According to a Facebook post shared on the Dawncliffe Westville Community Watch, the young man helped a group of residents in Umzimbeet Valley, Westville rescue a cat which had been hit by a car and had retreated into nearby drainpipe. The post goes on to detail the daring rescue:

The cat, which has apparently since been taken to the vet for examination, had beaten a hasty retreat into a nearby drain & he could only access it by shimmying his svelte frame through a narrow dark, wet and muddy pipe.

Our intrepid hero, identified only as MJ, received a bevy of laudatory comments for his heroic deed.
