Pupils light up night sky
Hundreds of Highway residents made their way to Winston Park Primary School for its annual Tree of Light ceremony.
TWO neighbouring schools in the upper Highway area teamed up for a Christmas Carol Evening last Friday.
Winston Park Primary School and Fulton School for the Deaf took to the stage and entertained and moved the audience with beautiful renditions of a few of the Christmas classics.
Cate Edgar, the organiser of the evening and a mom at Winston Park Primary School, said that the annual community event was held for the sixth time and each year the project grows in leaps and bounds. “Each year we put up a tree of light and sell dedication tags that are hung on the tree. We turn the lights on and they stay burning from now until January,” said Cate. The funds that are raised are then used for ongoing projects at the school.
