Fuel shortage at King Shaka causes flight delays

Five planes are currently grounded at King Shaka International Airport because of a fuel shortage.

A FUEL shortage for aircraft is causing delays at King Shaka International Airport where passengers flying into and out of Durban will be held up for a few hours.

According to Collin Naidoo of The Airport Company SA, five planes are grounded at present because of the fuel shortage. He expects the problem to be sorted out by midday.

Naidoo said aircraft flying into Durban have been advised to get fuel from the place they are leaving so that they have enough on board for the return flight.

He said passengers could expect delays.

According to the its Facebook page, the airport is also currently experiencing water problems.
