Unity is needed to fight load shedding
The South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SACCI) has urged consumers to limit the use of electricity as load shedding affects the whole country.

AS Eskom has warned that without additional funding to buy diesel load shedding will be an ongoing process, the South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SACCI) has expressed its concerns.
Vusi Khumalo, SACCI president, said in a press release that the potential impacts that load shedding will have on business, business confidence and consumers alike is inestimable.
“SACCI believes that this situation does not only affect businesses, but it is in the interest of the whole country that concerted and unified action is necessary.
“For this reason SACCI has undertaken, through its membership, to work with Eskom, a member in good standing, to find workable solutions to the problems,” said Khumalo.
SACCI appealed to its members to submit any proposals that they may have to alleviate the situation for joint consideration by Eskom and SACCI.
“We also urge consumers to limit the use of electricity as much as possible,” he added.
Consumers can visit the municipal and Eskom websites to become aware of load shedding schedules that affect their area in order to plan activities accordingly.
