Waterfall murder suspect to appear in court 

The man arrested in connection to the Waterfall stabbing is expected to appear in court soon.

HILLCREST detectives arrested a 55-year old man at 1am today for the murder of man who was stabbed outside the Linkhills Shopping Centre.

Communications officer for the Pinetown SAPS, Lieutenant Bongumusa Manqele, said it is alleged that at about 7.30pm last night three people were fighting outside the shopping centre in Waterfall, near Hillcrest.

“It is alleged that while the fight was on, an unknown man came and stabbed one of the men on the shoulder with the knife. The victim died at the scene,” said Lt Manqele.

The man then left the scene on foot and a case of murder was opened at the Hillcrest police station for further investigation. Preliminary investigations by detectives led to the arrest of the man at his home in Crestholme, near Hillcrest.

The suspect will be charged with murder and is expected to appear in the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court soon.
