WARD 10 councillor, Rick Crouch, shared his plans and projects for the year ahead. “I will continue to focus on service delivery in Ward 10: this, after all, is why we pay rates. This ward is considered by the council as a “maintenance” ward, which means no new major infrastructure has been planned. We mainly receive maintenance on the current infrastructure. The pipeline project will continue into 2015, and with it comes numerous related problems, from road closures to businesses losing money due to those road closures,” said Crouch.

He will also be following up on the new electrical sub-station on Willingdon Road and the proposed revamp of the “old” civic centre building in Kloof, which will once again become a civic centre housing municipal departments. “The Kloof Clinic needs a complete overhaul. Considering it is a clinic, it is in a disgusting state and I am trying to get funding for this project. In council I will be focusing on irregular expenditure, Metro Police enforcing of by-laws and the traffic calming policy. It is important to get Metro Police on track as they are the enforcers of our by-laws, and without them we have the chaos we are currently experiencing. Metro Police needs increased funding for everything from vehicles, personnel, training and uniforms,” he added.

Crouch further stated there are no time limits to these projects as they are ongoing.
