Cyclists injured in Hillcrest fall

One cyclist was seriously injured and another sustained minor injuries while riding in St Heliers Road in Hillcrest on the morning of Friday, 23 January.

It is understood the two, who were part of a group of cyclists, fell while riding downhill.

ER24 paramedics arrived on scene where they found the group of cyclists assisting the male cyclist. Paramedics took over, and on assessment it was established that he had sustained multiple injuries. He was provided with advanced life support and transported to a local hospital.

The female cyclist, who had sustained minor injuries, went privately to hospital.
