Foreigner killed in Wyebank
Pinetown detectives seek witnesses in a case of murder and business robbery in which an Ethiopian national was shot by four men in Wyebank.
THE Pinetown Cluster Task Team detectives are urgently looking for witnesses in a case of murder and business robbery that took place in Wyebank, near Pinetown, on Wednesday, 28 January.
According to Lieutenant Bongumusa Manqele, spokesman for Pinetown SAPS, at approximately 1.10am the man (36), who is an Ethiopian national, was sleeping in his room adjoining the tuckshop when four men stormed inside. He was shot in his left thigh. The four then went inside the tuckshop and stole money and cigarettes.
It is alleged that there was another man in the room, believed to be a Mozambican national, who disappeared during the shooting. The victim was rushed to the clinic where he later died.
