Municipality encourages public to settle debts

THE eThekwini Municipality encourages customers with outstanding municipal accounts to make use of their repayment plan in order to ensure that essential services are not cut off.

Anyone who wishes to settle their debt can do so through the credit control and debt collection policy, which allows customers to enter into a payment agreement with the municipality.

According to Ms Tozi Mthethwa, head of communications, all applications will go through a credit profile assessment to determine the amount of risk the municipality is exposed to by the applicant before suitable terms are granted.
