Three house burglars were nabbed by local police officers just minutes after breaking into a Northdene home.

THREE burglars were arrested by Malvern SAPS officers just moments after burgling a Northdene home.
Communications officer for Malvern SAPS, Radhika Marimuthu, said on 23 February at about 4.45pm, W/O Rani John and Cst Pravesh Singh were called to a house burglary in progress in Northdene.
“With the help of a community member, the officers were given more information and a description of the burglars. As the officers reached the scene they spotted one of the burglars leaving the area with power tools in his possession,” W/O Marimuthu added.
When questioned, the man could not give any substantial reason as to where he got the power tools from.
“When they left the burglar at the station they received another report that the second burglar was walking along the M7. The members raced to the scene and arrested him. The third burglar was arrested by the Malvern SAPS housebreaking unit during their investigation,” W/O Maritmuthu added.
The trio has been charged and appeared in court. The case was postponed to a later date.
The station commander, Lt Col Valarine Reddy, commended the members on the swift arrests and investigative work leading to the arrests.
